1940's Airline Model 14BR-734B
This is 1940's Airline Model 14BR-734B. This radio was sold by Montgomery Ward
and was probably made by Belmont (Belmont made many radios for Montgomery Ward).
This radio has two bands: Standard Broadcast AM and shorwave covering 9 - 12 MHz.
This radio has 5 pushbuttons on the front below the dial where one can preset
favorite stations. The stations are preset by inserting a screwdriver through the
hole in the pushbutton to turn a screw that adjusts a cam on a shaft. The speaker
is mounted on the side. The radio has 7 tubes, some of which are Airline brand
tubes. After cleaning, replacing the dial cord, and alignment, this radio works well.
