Antique Kitchen Appliances

The pictures below are some antique kitchen applicance that belonged to my mother. These applicances are from the 1950's.

Sunbeam Model 7B Mixmaster Mixer

This mixer is from the early 1950's. I remember licking the bowl and beaters many times while my mother prepared cakes and cookies. That was a real treat for me. Note the cool-looking grill on the front of the motor. The black screw on the side and on the side opposite is for accessing the motor brushes. The rectangular and triangular area on the side is what remains of the decal label. The mixer does work but nees to be oiled and serviced if I used it. Below is another picture of the mixer with the motor raised to remove the bowl.

The speed of the beaters is adjusted by turning the big round knob on the rear of the motor. It has 10 settings with nomenclature stating what each setting could be used to do. See the picture below.

The pictue below shows the box I found the mixer in in the attic of my mother's house. The box is not for the model we have - it is for a newer version (I think) with 12 settings, the Model 12W.

Dominion Electrical Mfg. Co.Style #1210 Waffle Iron

The picture below shows a waffle iron made by Dominion Electrical Mfg. Co. Inc. of Mansfield, Ohio. The nomenclature on the bottom of the applicance states it is Style # 1210. I remember mother making waffles many times using this appliance. The appliance is shiny chrome-plated with wooden handles and wooden feet.

Note the appliance has a temperature indicator on the top. The indicator has three temperature zones: LOW, BAKE, and HOT.The BAKE sone has a little arrow above it. Below is a picture of the appliance open showing the waffle griddle.

The waffle griddles can be removed for cleaning and for replacing with flat plates to toast bread, etc. See the picure below.

On the rear of the appliance, there is a place to attach a cup to catch the runoff of the batter. See the picture below.

The electric cord is the old plug on type as shown in the picure below.
