Antique Stereo Viewer
This is an antique stereo viewer that belonged to my grandparents. It is a
simple design with binocular lenes with a hood and a boom on which is a moveable
bracket to hold the pictures. The pictures are on stiff cards and contain
two virtually identical images. There is ususally text on the back describing
the scene.
I have a large quantity of picture cards for this viewer. Three of them are
shown and represent the types of cards I have.
The card below is a view of the main entrance of Sears Roebuck and Company in
Chicago as it looked many years ago. This is one of a series of these cards about
Sears. The series gives you a tour of the massive Sears company including the
switchboard room, the boiler room, and the catalog room in addition to other
scenes of Sears.
The card below is a view of the Arch of Triumph in Paris on Victory Day
July 14, 1919. This is one of a series.
Below is a view of the pyramids in Egypt. This is an example of many color cards
showing many scenes both actual and drawn.
