1926 Freshman Masterpiece
This is 1926 Tuned RF (TRF) radio made by the Charles Freshman Company.
This model is battery powered and is called the "Freshman Masterpiece." Three
large knobs on the front tune three tuned circuits. All three circuits must be
identically tuned for best reception. The dials around the three knobs are calibrated 0 -100.
Two smaller knobs (rheostats) adjust the filaments for the amplifiers (left) and detector
(right). The on/off switch is the brass knob in the center between the two smaller knobs.
Pulling this brass knob out turns the set on. The radio does not have a built-in speaker.
It has a phone jack for an external speaker and another phone jack for headphones or to
connect to an external amplifier.
Battery voltages required are:
B+ 90V
B+ 45V (Detector)
Filaments 5V
