The VOM below is a Series 834. It was manufactured by Precision Apparatus Co. of Brooklyn, NY. It can measure DC voltages up to 1200 V. It can also measure resistance. This meter is non-functional as someone had been inside and removed several parts. Part of the meter needle had been broken off. I took the meter movement apart and found the broken needle part and glued it back in place. The meter movement itself does work. Apparently someone connected this to a high voltage with the meter on a low voltage scale. This action apparently broke the meter needle off and burned out some of the internal parts. The AC/DC/Resistance mode switch on the left is not original.
