Signal Generator
SG-117/URM-26B

The picture above is of a military portable RF generator intended for bench testing
of electronic equipment. It is mostly intended for alignment and determination of
receiver sensitivity, selectivity, and gain. Radio frequencies generated by this test
set range from 4 MHz to 405 MHz in 6 bands. The RF signal can be continuous wave (CW) or amplitude
modulated (AM) internally at 400 Hz or 1 kHz sinewave. The signal can also be amplitde or pulse
modulated externlly. Sinewave external AM ranges from 100 Hz to 20 kHz. External pulse
pulse repetition rate ranges from 50 to 5,000 pulses per second. The pulses must be positive-going
with a minimum amplitude of 40 Volts for proper modulation characteristics.
The RF output voltage is adjustable from 0.1 to 100,000 microvolts (uV) +/-10% up to 100 MHz, +/-20% up to
405 MHz, into 50 ohms.
The instrument operates from a source of 103 to 126 VAC, 50 to 1 kHz, single phase.
The instrument is 11.5 in high, 14.5 in wide, 10.75 in deep and weighs 31 pounds.
