The picture above is a Vocaline Model JRC-400 Transceiver manufactured in 1956. It was designed for the Class B Citizens Band that operated at 465 MHz. This band
allocation was short-lived and was superseded by the Class D Citizens Band that operates at 27 MHz. The transceiver sold for $69.75 in 1956.
The transceiver uses three vacuum tubes. A 6AF4 vacuum tube operates as a superegenerative detector and the oscillator for the transmitter. For audio on both transmit and
receive, a 6AV6 vacuum tube and a 6AS5 vacuum tube are used. The power supply incorporates a vibrator for DC operation, and a selenium rectifier.
The transceiver operates on either 117 volts AC or 6 volts DC. The RF output is amplitude-modulated with a power output of 1/3 Watt.
Below are pictures of the inside of the transceiver.
I have two of these transceivers. I have the ac power cord and whip antenna for one. I do not have the microphone. These transceivers are not now legal to operate.
Below is a picture of the pair of transceivers.
