1940 Zenith Model 6S511
This is a 1940 Zenith Model 6S511. This radio is Standard Broadcast AM and one shortwave band.
Shortwave coverage is 6 to 18 MHz. The radio has 5 pushbuttons above the dial. Four are
station presets and the one on the far right is for dial tuning. The presets are
adjusted by removing the cover beneath pushbuttons and adjusting a coil (oscillator tuning)
with a blade screw and a capacitor (preselector) with a nut. This is a transformer set and
uses some loctal tubes. The radio had rubber wiring and had these wires were replaced. This
radio works well.
